This program will be tailored to the needs of students, but its priorities are to improve Spoken English as a conversational method; and Debate & Essay Writing enhance critical thinking and analytical skills and logic development skills along with Written English skills. In addition, students will learn Critical Reading and Writing which are basic to American high schools and universities along with selected parts of the American education system curriculum (or SAT and TOEFL materials)
Also, students are divided into 1~8 levels based on their test results from this curriculum. Based on the starting level, students are divided into the basic Conversation-based classes (levels 1~5: Beginner ~ Intermediate) and the advanced Discussion and Debate based classes (levels 6~8; Upper-Intermediate ~ Advanced). Within the same course title, the reading materials and activities are different according to the different levels and students in the basic level will be re-evaluated during the 1st stage (week 1~4) and may take the advanced level classes during the 2nd stage (week 5~8).
Especially, the advanced classes are modeled after Harvard University classes, and as a result, active participation of students in debate, discussion, and writing is required. Meanwhile the basic classes focus on functional training to improve the fundamentals of English. Both classes are modeled on the student-participation based American educational model and thus require students to study by themselves and complete voluminous assignments.
